Acta Sanctorum Database includes two search pages, Search All and Search Indices. When you select Search from the Home page, you will be taken to the Search All page by default. To switch to the Search Indices page or the BHL GoTo section of the database, click the relevant button on the Toolbar.

Each Search page in Acta Sanctorum Database offers a number of Search fields, which you can use to search the database. For a full description of the search pages, see the Search All and Search Indices Help topics.

To conduct a search, either type the required search terms (individual words or phrases) into the relevant search boxes or select them from a browse List. Search Options are selected from drop-down lists.

You can combine search terms using Boolean and proximity searching, or you can search for variations on search terms using wildcard characters.

Note: Between search boxes, all terms are treated by default as if they were combined using the Boolean operator AND.

When you have finished making your selections, click Search. A Search Results with Context page will appear displaying the results of your search.
